Open-source contract

Transparency

Every donation runs through an open-source smart contract, verified on Etherscan. The fee tiers are public, and any change to them is an on-chain event anyone can see.

On-chain totals

Total donated to verified causes

Counts only donations sent to a cause's verified payout address: the same rule the leaderboard uses to rank donors.

The donate page shows a live quote. The final fee is fixed when the transaction is mined. If the ETH price feed is late, the last tier applies to any amount.

Fee withdrawal address (advisory)

The contract does not force fee withdrawals to this address: the owner picks the destination each time. Every withdrawal is public as a FeesWithdrawn event, with its destination.

Contract owner

The owner powers below are fixed in the contract code.

Loading…

The owner can

  • Change the fee tiers, up to the contract's fixed 10% cap.
  • Swap the ETH/USD price feed the fee tiers use.
  • Pause and unpause donations.
  • Withdraw the platform fees collected, to an address it picks.
  • Hand ownership to another address, which must accept it on chain.

The owner cannot

  • Touch a cause's share of a donation: it goes straight to the cause's payout address in the same transaction.
  • Take more than 10% of any donation: the cap is fixed in the code.
  • Change the contract's code: it cannot be upgraded.
